Leveraging Adaptive reuse clauses within the State Environmental Planning Policy, we were able to keep this industrial building within the newly re-zoned R4 high density residential area of Marrickville, overlaid on a long standing industrial area, and one of the last manufacturing areas within the City.

The building is currently used by the small team behind the global fundraising event The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride and Movember, raising money for mens health initiatives. To add a public interface to the building, the client is including a small donut take away shop called “Donut Garage” to continue raising funds for the charity year round.

The Shed Collective have led the design, coordinated the Development Application with Council and Construction Certificates, and supporting the client through construction.

Construction is underway for this adaptive reuse project, aiming for an Autumn 2024 launch!
